Dauna Kraag is a Brazilian photographer based in Barcelona, creating visual stories that balance authenticity with imagination. After spending 22 years in Amsterdam, she now works internationally with brands, creatives and individuals, bringing over 25 years of visual experience to every project. Originally trained as a designer and art director, Dauna approaches photography through the lens of composition, colour and storytelling. Whether documenting genuine moments or carefully constructing a scene, she is driven by one question: *What story does this image tell?* She is fascinated by people—their individuality, gestures, presence and the subtle details that often go unnoticed. Some of her work is observational and intimate, revealing people as they are. Other projects are more conceptual, where reality becomes the starting point for creating an atmosphere, a narrative or an entirely imagined world. Rather than simply recording what exists, she enjoys shaping images that invite curiosity, emotion and interpretation. Born and raised in Brazil to Dutch parents with Indonesian roots, Dauna's multicultural background continues to influence her visual language. Her love for bold colours, strong compositions and cinematic atmospheres reflects a lifelong curiosity about people, places and the way visual details can evoke emotion. Her work spans portrait, editorial, lifestyle, branding and hospitality photography, always with a focus on creating images that feel distinctive, timeless and emotionally resonant. For Dauna, photography is more than documenting a moment—it's about creating stories that people can step into, connect with and remember.
